Day 7...Ultimate Reset!
WOW! What a day! Well, I woke up this morning feeling pretty tired...most likely due to not getting to sleep early enough and then waking at 4:30 to get things done. I felt really great throughout the day, except my stomach felt a little "airy/gassy." I was full of energy and felt like I was back to my "old self." FULL OF LIFE & POSITIVITY <3 On my way to my tutoring job, I had my music blasting (Thank you for finally putting Taylor Swift's "Trouble" on the radio...LOVE IT, LOVE HER! This song get's me SO PUMPED and I just sing at the top of my lungs!!).
Today was the last day of the RECLAIM Phase, so as of tomorrow, I'm completely vegan for 2 full weeks....which I don't mind at all! During the Release Phase in July/Aug, I felt wonderful and am hoping to feel the same this time around.
Today's breakfast was absolutely DELISH! I had 1cup of cooked oatmeal with 1/2 cup chopped apple, 1 Tbsp ground flax, 1tsp ground cinnamon and 1 Tbsp 100% pure maple syrup. I am a little sad to say that today marks the last day of oatmeal for 2 weeks. It's fruit from here on out which is just as yummy and much quicker to "make!" The oatmeal totally held me over til lunch time which consisted of a MicroGreen salad. I was also have to have 1/2 serving of zucchini/cashew soup, but we didn't make enough extra from the night before, so I let my roommies have it since I'm not that into soup...don't get me wrong, it was yummy, but it having hot soup on a hot day just doesn't sit right with me :) I'd have to say, I should have sucked it up and had a least a little soup... I was really hungry by the time snack time came around! I brought some ice and frozen strawberries to work today, so I mixed up my chocolate vegan Shakeology for snack.....let me tell you, IT WAS DELECTABLE!!! After work, I ran home to make our grocery list for Phase 2 and headed out to the store with my roommies at about 6:30. I was pretty hungry at this point and once again, couldn't wait to eat! Well, it was definitely worth the wait! dinner was served around 8:00 and it was yummy! Baked Tempeh (made from cooked & slightly fermented soybeans-low in fat, high in protein), steamed veggies and 1 serving brown rice. I couldn't even finish all of the rice and Tempeh!
Here are my 2 fav meals from today...I forgot to snap a shot of my lunch... I think I devoured it before thinking of taking the pic! LOL
The meals during the reset are all "clean" recipes. I have definitely been feeling a bit different over the last few days. Yes, very emotional the first few days (what a cry fest that was), but that was, I'm guessing, due to a large number of things all going on at the same time. No more meltdowns since Sunday! WOOOHOO! I have been feeling very calm and clear headed. For those of you who know me, I am very scatter-brained and like to start many things at once. This calmness that I've been feeling has allowed me to be much more focused over the last few days and I've actually been crossing things of my To-Do list!
Tomorrow (Thursday) is Day 8; the first day of the Release Phase!! Wish me luck!!! The texture of the detox mixture that I have to drink 3 times each day is not so appetizing but the taste isn't so bad! OH, pics and measurements will also be posted in the evening of day 8...they have already been done, I just have to put them together! Stay tuned :)
