Day 14, 15, 16.... COMPLETE!!!!


I cannot believe I'm already done with day 14 the final day of the release phase!!! WOW! No more Detox drink 3 times a day for me anymore, just my shot of "mowing the lawn with my face" Alkalinize once a day for the next 7 days, the RESTORE PHASE :) During the RESTORE PHASE, grains (rice & quinoa) and legumes (beans, lentils) will completely be eliminated and my diet will be based only on fruits and veggies...which I'm totally excited about! I absolutely LOVE fruits and veggies (minus beets and cooked spinach, but lucky me....they're NOT on the menu!!! WOOOHOO). For breakfast, I'll have no more than 3 servings of fruit. We did our shopping for this final phase last night and OH MAN did it look FRESH! We stuck to fruit that is lower on the glycemic level such as strawberries, kiwi and grapes, which all have a  Glycemic Index below 55.

 Day 14 On the Menu:

Breakfast: 2 cups fruit

Lunch: Microgreen Salad

Snack: Strawberry Vegan Shake

Dinner: Edamame & Roasted Corn Succotash...This will DEFINITELY be a regular meal in my house after the Reset is over! It is SOOOOO DELICIOUS and will probably be my lunch or dinner the first day off the Reset!!! CANNOT WAIT!


Day 15..... Today started out super fabulous! It was an early release day at school, so I WAS PUMPED and ready to GET IT DONE! Well, there must be a full moon making it's way soon because my class of 19 2nd grade kiddos absolutely kicked my butt today! All I could think about was how nice it would be to have a cookie....it would make all of this stress go away! Until after I had a cookie, then I thought again about just licking the cookie and then throwing it away! OMG!!!! What was going on! This stress of 19 crazy kiddos was killing me! Apparently I eat my emotions...I'm right there with many others. Stress can do such crazy things! I must find something else, something healthy to do when I feel like this! I dismissed the students and I STILL had COOKIES ON THE BRAIN! I went back to my classroom, had my lunch and was feeling a little better til BAM...slap in the face...COOKIE BRAIN AGAIN! Why had I not give each student 5 cookies on their way out the door to save me from eating them! LOL! So yes my friends, I am only human and yes, I did break....but it wasn't for a cookie...in that drawer also lies a great amount of candy, but that's not really my "go to" stress reliever, but then I saw a Hershey Kiss. I kinda thought about it, picked it up, thought that it hopefully wouldn't be bad on my system, put it back, closed the drawer, walked away and the thoughts just wouldn't go away. Back to the drawer I headed and tore into that little kiss of candy :( OMG! I BROKE! 15 days in and broke! BUT....I have to tell myself it's OK, I'm only human, we have our moments of weakness and I'll just pick up where I left off. And then I have to give myself props, I didn't eat the cookie, nor did I eat the ENTIRE bag of kisses... just one and only one. They have been in that drawer the entire time I've been doing the Reset and only got to me once. I'm not letting it happen again because just like I thought....tummy ache central...just from a yummy kiss? ummmm yes, my belly is SO NOT used to having things like this and apparently didn't know what to do with it! So, besides my Hershey Kiss, here is what was on my plate throughout the entire day:


Breakfast: Bowl of Fruit

Lunch: Asian Cabbage Salad

Snack: My OH SO LOVED Strawberry Shakeology!

Dinner: Yummy yummy in my tummy... Baked sweet potato (cut into thin "chips" b/c I was sooo hungry and needed it to cook fast!) and a side of Garlic Veggies...where did the yummy garlic come from???? Straight from my mommy and daddy's garden...BEST GARLIC EVER!!!




Day 16: Today went pretty much like yesterday... minus the stress of crazy 2nd graders due to our much needed planning day and minus the slip up of a Hershey Kiss :) There they will sit in the drawer for the remainder of the Reset and until I have sweet angels in my classroom to give a sweet treat to!

Breakfast: Fruit
Lunch: Asian Cabbage Salad
Snack: CHOCOLATE Vegan Shake-O
Dinner: I have family in town, so I ordered a house salad (mixed greens, tomato, carrots & cucumber) with oil and vinegar on the side as well as a side of steamed veggies (broccoli & cauliflower).
